That's interesting, Susan. I have not been following the Cox DNA project closely, because I am now the administrator of the Phillips DNA project, which keeps me really busy. But I just now took a look at the Cox DNA chart, and noticed there are quite a few more people who have tested as Haplogroup N, and they are not all closely related!

My Cox family is Group 07. I noticed that there are two new test results for N1: kit number 118895 and 118898. Is one of those your brother? If so, my line of Coxes is not related to your line of Coxes within 1000 years, because we mismatch on too many markers. It looks like 118895 and 118898 do match kit number 117165, who lists his earliest known Cox ancestor as John Cox born 1744 in VA, died 1823 in KY. Is that your John Cox?

I guess there must have been more Cock/Cox family that immigrated from Sweden/Finland!

Nancy
