Hello! my grandfather was Ernest Edward Cock (or sometimes Cocks), born in 1870 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire; christened in Old Clee, Lincolnshire, in 1871; mother Esther Ashley Cocks (no father listed on IGI record); he was brought up by William and Mary Ann Drew of King's Lynn, Norfolk (?? relatives) documented in 1881 Census; he married my grandmother Eliza Watling in 1899 in King's Lynn (documented); served in Royal Horse Artillery in South African War (Boer War) some time during 1900-1902 (documented with war memorial); returned to Lynn where he died in 1944.
Any clues as to why tie between Drew and Cock family or who was his father or anything about his mother is eagerly sought! Thanks, Pam Spooner
