Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you - unfortunately I don't have any of John's siblings, nor do I have his mother, or any dates for his father. What I do have is that he married Eliza LOBB in York (1875), who was also from Cornwall. Her father was a LOBB but her mother was a COCK (Ann Jeffrey b. 1827 Madron, Cornwall). So it seems the LOBB's & COCK's were a close bunch! John COCK was a miner - do you know if there was any major mining up in York that would have sent them up there in the 1870's? He and his new wife travelled to Australia on the "Star of India" June 16, 1876.

If any of this helps you, or leads you anywhere, I'd love to know about it.

Happy hunting,

Toni
