I too have Cock ancestors. I have a letter to my Gt Grandmother Jane nee Cock from her brother Henry refering to an ancestor who had been the only British sea captain to have died during the Armada - so far I have failed to find any concrete evidence. Any chance that the admiral you are asking about is any connection??
