William Samsom (Sampson)? Cochrane

I just recently started researching my family history and would like some info if anyone can help. My grandfather was William Thomas Cochrane born Oct. 10, 1917 in Lincoln, NE (I believe). His father was William Samson (Sampson?) Cochrane born in 1872. We think William Samson came from Southern Illinois. His mother was Addie Murray Cochrane born in 1846 in Northern Ireland (?). His father may have been named Thomas. He had a sister, Nelia Cochrane Quick.
