I am looking for any information on my grandfather "Robert Arrol Cochrane, born May 7th, l887, in Scotland. I know that he began working for the Bank of New South Wales (now Westpac) in London on Nov.1, l909 and went on war leave Feb 26 , l916. He resigned from the bank after the war on Feb 11,l919. I received this info from an enquiry to Westpac. That is all the info I have on him. I have been told he was always interested in the welfare of my mother, but she refused to talk about him. I have had a strong curiosity about him my entire life, and would love to know what happened to him. I am a beginner at this "geneology" game, and really don't know where to look. I would appreciate any assistance or any tidbit of info. Thanks for reading my message.
