Nancy, I'm sorry that I cannot offer any help with your question, but, instead, I am asking you to help me with the following:
Eugenie (Cochran) Rhea died in Los Angeles in 1947.She had two daughters, and no sons. Both daughters married, but so far as I have been able to learn, neither of them had any children.
Eugenie's father was William Lewis Cochran (b. 1834 in Mississippi; died in 1913 in Oklahoma).William Lewis Cochran was the son of Augustus Owen Cochran, Sr., who was son of William Cochran.
I think that Eugenie (Cochran) Rhea might have had possession of a Cochran family Bible which originally belonged to one of the ancestors named above - I don't know which one.I have not been able to find out what happened to the Bible.
It occurred to me that if a southern California Cochran ever came across a Cochran Bible at a yard sale, in an antique store, in a library, etc., he/she would at least glance through the family pages.I am writing to ask if you will mention this at any southern California Cochran reunion, and ask everyone to keep it in mind and email me if they ever see it anywhere. The information in that Bible would be very helpful to me.
Of course, if anyone is interested in the family mentioned above, I will be happy to share information.
Thank you,
Mary Gregg
