Hi, tried to email you privately but your emailed bounced.here's what i do have:
don't know much at all about Peter except i found the following:
a report in the settlement of his father's estate, said he left neither widow or child.
don't let that get you down though!!!my Lycurgus had fought with and against his brothers in the Civil War and even afterwards, took his only son, my grandpa Pat "Henry" Cochran, and they left his wife Dovie and went to Texas.years later, my grandma (Maggie (Scoggins) - wife of Pat "Henry" Cochran had never ever looked through a magazine but one time she decided to andsaw a classified ad in there from Dovie looking for her son and husband.grandma wrote back to her and told her that her (dovie's) son was her (maggie's) husband!dovie came for visits but they never got back together.anyways, pat and maggie had 10 children, my dad being the youngest.have always heard that my dad (Pete) was named after an uncle and until last year!!!Lycurgus "LC" "Curd" and Peter were only 2 of 12 children, being the sons of John Cochran and Mary "Polly" McCrory.I have found a bit in a newspaper book at the library about a John Cochran who left after killing a guy.family stories say that John Cochran (our great great grandpa) had shot and killed a guy over a poker game.guess he got scared and ran.
your peter cochran was born 1836 in Marshall Co., TN and died in 1868, that's about all i know right now as i need to go back through some things that i have and see if there's anything i missed on him.
would absolutely love to trade info. with you!
really do hope to hear back from you soon!this is just so exciting!
your cuz,
kim
