Do you mean that William Cochran is a member of the Chrokee tribe? Or that he lived in Cherokee, Alfalfa county, Oklahoma? There are Cochrans and Murrows in Cherokee, OK, though I'm not sure if there are any significant number of Native Americans in the area.

My family tree is MURROW -- and have discovered a cousin in Chrokee, OK, who is descended from the MURROW/COCHRAN families. I believe it is she who has already responded to your query.
