Does anyone out there have easy access to the Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee CENSUS records for the years 1840 and 1850?
I am searching for Frederick Hensley Cabler/Cobler, born 1832 or 1837 in that area. Years ago, I looked at a census record that I "recall" being for John I. Cabler (at least that's what I thought it was). I didn't know to keep records on sources then, so didn't copy all the info.
My recollection is that I found Frederick H. Cabler along with a Nick Cabler and a Rachel Cabler in the household of this John I. Cabler.
I also recall some information about a "Threlkeld" having joined the DAR on this line, but don't recall what it was. I tried at that time to contact this person, but response was rather curt and uninformative.
At present, I'm pretty well confined to the house and can't get out to check records at libraries, etc. so I would appreciate any help I can get. I think the reason for the differences in birth dates is that tombstone shows one date and pension files show another. One is 03 Aug 1832 and the tombstone shows 03 Aug 1837. (He d. 1922 and is buried in Witherspoon Cemetery in Vandervoort, Polk Co., AR)
I would like to find all the info shown on the census, it may help me trace back to the Cabler/Cobler family.
Will be glad to share what information I have on the descendants of this individual.
Appreciate any help I can get.
