I am not related to the Cobb family. However, I was looking on the internet at Google Books and had cause to check Cobb for another researcher. They had several books about the Cobbs family. I recall Miss Fernald mentioned.
You might even type in her name when you get to Google Books. I " think" Portland was earlier known as Cumberland, Maine or was that always the county name? There were Cobbs in Cape Elizabeth Twp. Most were well educated.
