Morris Co. New Jersey was settled by "Taunton Cobbs" specifically the descendants of Edward Cobb 1636-1675, who left Taunton Ma. to set up an iron foundry near newly discovered deposits of Iron ore. A John Cobb 1750-1806, married to an Ann Parrot had an unknown son that may have been born around 1772-3. That John had other brothers that may have had a son named Joseph. A brother Samuel mar. a Sarah Southard in 1773, in New Jersey died bef.1800 in Pa. Other brothers Clisby, Thomas and Robert. Clisby removed to North Carolina. Cliff Cobb
