Hi Martin.

First of all, thank you so much for your follow up! I am definitely interested in learning as much as possible about anything that might link me to my family of Morisons.

I'm a little confused now because my father told me that my great grandfather was born in England and my grandfathers navy ring beared the 3 headed symbol and his middle name Morison was somehow related to the Morison clan yet not the ones in a history book he has pointing to the ones in Scotland. At this point, it appears that he has surely confused the quest for me.

I am of the understanding that my great grandfather was born in England and my grandfather on my fathers side was born here in the United States. I guess my best bet is to start with trying to find out when my great grandfather came here. It is my understanding that he followed his then Scottish girlfriend who became his wife to this country but I have no way of validating that yet. I have no idea even when he might have come here so it'll be hard to find him in a manifest I believe. I think once I can narrow down a little more in terms of dates and locations, that I might be able to solve this confusion about a 3 saracen head arms symbol.

I am quite ignorant in the best process for all of this but hopefully as I learn and find more information, I will start to see how it's supposed to work.

Whatever you can offer me in heraldry and how I can find it's relation to my English family would be very helpful.

Thanks again.
~heather
