Unfortunately, I have absolutely NO idea as to whether or not I descend in the direct male line from an armigerous ancestor. If I do, that's great and of course, if not, then that's great, too! :)

I am hoping to eventually save enough money and have my direct male line in England researched as far back as the genealogist can go because I'm interested in knowing. If I do descend in my direct male line from an armigerous ancestor, then I would definitely have the first son cadency marks on my coat-of-arms because fortunately, I'm the eldest adult son of my paternal line.

Heraldry is fascinating! I would also like to create my own arms and have them registered at the College of Arms in England contingent upon whether or not I descend in the direct male line from an armiger.

Any ideas as to what I might do as far as creating my own coat-of-arms, if necessary?
