The way I read your findings, the Papworth and Glover info suggest that the crest with the 3 chevronelles belongs to Mikeleye and not Meek? Is that the way you see it?

“Gules a lion rampant Argent within a bordure indented Or” for Meeke, Essex and Sire Johan de Merk. Is this a different crest than the chevronelles one?
