Unfortunately, Norman, there are probably various Cole individuals who are and are not armigerous. One coat-of-arms does not belong to every family member with the same name. For instance, one coat of arms for Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormonde, does not belong to Thomas Butler, who died in Frederick County, Virginia, ca. 1764; unless, that particular Thomas Butler is a direct male descendant of the armigerous, Lord Ormonde. I hope this helps to clarify the mysteries surrouding coats-of-arms. Sincerely, Jason Simmons Notify Administrator about this message?
