Actually, House of Names, could conceivably help researchers, at least, as a starting point and especially, if they are fortunate enough to be a descendant from one of those forebears mentioned on their website. Although, this isn't likely, it does help give some idea as to what their possible ancestors might have borne.

P.S. I find it amusing that many online stores still call coats-of-arms "family coat-of-arms" and "family crest."
