Coats of Arms

Hello!

Need your help!

My ancestor (gggandfather) Don Felipe Otero-Tamariz (Tamarit?)brought with him from Spain (Cadiz) the family coat-of- arms. (????) This was skillfully carved into a champagne colored topaz which is oval shaped and less than an inch wide. It is in fact an incredible piece of work by a genius. It is possible it may have been used to engrave the family seal (wax) on personal or official documents.

The coats of arms itself is divided into two parts from left to riggt.
The upper portion being less than 1/3 of the total figure and consisting of vertical lines one next to the other.(again going from the left to the right) Above that upper portion which is covered with branches (olive???) sticking out of the middle there is an arm reaching up. In its fist there is an olive branch.
In the lower portion (at least 3/4 of the total) there are three rampant lions looking to the right as you look at the piece facing you.

It is, actually, a very decorated Coats of Arms.

As additional information, my ggg was originally (they say) from Jijon but he married a Gaditana sometimes during the occupation by the French under Napoleon. He left Spain through Cadiz, wnet on to Venezuela and then had to flee to PR after the former colony rebelled and became a republic where loyal spaniards were not welcomed.

Verbal tradition has it that this coats of arms was granted to the Otero family under the reign of Philip D’Anjou (1700-1746) the first Bourbon king of Spain who became Phillip the V. son of Don Felipe Otero Tamaris or Tamariz. I have personally seen and examined the coats of arms on several occasions. It’s origin is, however, a mystery and none of the statements above are documented. On my research concerning the Coats of Arms, I dug into the past to find out more about the lineage of the Otero and the Tamariz or Tamarit families. Their coats of arms, as they appear in the “Diccionario de Apellidos”, are not compatible with the one is the Otero family’s possession. The search still continues as is reflected by the documents on the Otero and Tamariz (t) lineage which follows this chapter.

ANY CLUES? As I said, I'll send you a picture if you tell me where.
