Thank you, Stephen. The beast on the arms is difficult to determine what it is but I hadn't thought of a Griffin which it more likely is. I also forgot to mention on the helmet is a bird with one wing raised.
My ancestor who initially bought these arms also bought the arms that were awarded to Robert Stewart, merchant of Aberdeen, about 1732. I know those arms are related to one line of my family. The other arms are a fifty-fifty chance as to whether they are actually related to my family.
