I am trying to identify a Coat of Arms I have had in my house since I was young. It is a copy of one given to my Uncle John by his great-aunt Janet who wrote the following on the back: My great-great grandfather Richmond was said to be a French baron from Normandy. I am not entirely convinced of this provinence. The arms are quite simple, the top third features a dragon passant on sable, while the bottom two thirds is ermine. The arms feature the motto "Never weary." I have seen examples of the arms of Richmond which appear red and white but as the arms were for individuals not families I do not know whose arms I possess. Has anyone else come across these arms in their searching? For the record these arms and those of Janet's maternal great-great-great grandfather were purchased at Caldwell Brothers Limited, 13-15 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh, in the 1880s.
