If you belong to one of the noble branches of the Kopczynski family than you are entitled to use a coat of arms - it is not necessary to 're'use the arms of Pomian, eventhough nowadays it done in that way - you do not have to prove your right the coat of arms if you 'know' that your are noble - of course, for most people it takes months if not years to prove their titles of nobility eventhough their names are wellknown and right unquestionned. Using the Polish Nobility Forum to acquire some kind of recognition or proof is not a good advice considering that these private corporations are not entitled to issue any kind of nobility letters. I believe you'de be better of using some Russian nobility registers (the the Kingdom of Poland - under Russian administration 1905) or some German and Austrian (indirect) sources as Rietstap or Siebmacher heraldry/genealogy registers. For what I recall the Pomian as a proclamatio clan was situated in Northern Pomerania and Mecklemburg - those three sources are not exhaustive (only a small part of the noumerous Polish nobility was encouraged to prove its noble descent by the Austrians, Russians and Prussians - the rest fall in the oblivion BUT it did not disappear) but the records are highly reliable if any. Kindly note that those records are at least partially official - sanctionned by the authorities.
