Forgive me Brandon, I clearly touched a raw nerve and my post was clumsily put. I had not intended to challenge yours or any other persons roots or clan/sept base but simply wished to comment on the armorial aspects of this discussion - it is after all a coat of arms forum. I finished my comments by stating that it was a matter of Genealogy and not assumption which would lead to answers; what I meant by that (and so clearly failed to make my point) was that my writings were nothing more than assumptions and the answer to the Robinson roots lay in genealogy. When two people hold a face to face conversation there is body language and interaction - unfortunately the written word, as in a forum, does not always convey the way in which a message is meant to be interpreted. Having re-read my missive I can see how clumsily I attempted to put my point and I would like to say once again that it is not for me to dictate or interpret the origins of any name; I bow to those who have done full and proper research. I trust that you will now be content to sheath your dirk ;-) Yours aye, Martin Goldstraw of Whitecairns Dumfries Scotland Notify Administrator about this message?
