There is a Rebecka Coates b about 1797 in S Carolina. Parents were Elijah and Eleanor (Hickman)Coates.
We are still sorting out newly found data, this is part of it. It is possible that Eleanor or Elijah is a step parent.
There is also a Helena(Hickman) Coates that might be the same as Eleanor.
We have a will of John Hickman in 1799 that Mentions Helena Coates and two grandchildren(Pollard(1794) and Emilia) but no Eleanor nor Rebecka, Austin, Mary or Elizabeth.
We have a diary that mentions Elijah and Eleanor and thier children Rebecka, Austin, Mary and Elizabeth, all born between 1788 and 1797.
So, we have lots of questions and hope some are answered when we actually see the diary.
