Dear Robbie--
Sorry to be so long in answering--- nurses work way too much! Anyway, I am talking about a brother to Stonewall Jackson's great grandfather--- not Stonewall Jackson's brothers!! Emily Jane Jackson Humphreys, daughter of George & Rebecca Coates Jackson, passed down the tale of her relationship to Stonewall Jackson's Great Grandfather---I forget hpw it goes but have it written down so will look it up for you. It tells of Feliciana Parish, La. (East or West-- think it is West as that is the older one) and it is just South of Woodville, Miss. My Uncle lives in St. Francisville so I plan to dig there when I head back to La. She told of how she was a great niece or a great grand niece--- anyway she named her son Robert Leslie LEE and so on.....
(We really should be carrying this discussion on the Jackson forum, huh?) Now, Benjamin Rawlins who admin. the estate of George Jackson is the one who married Elisabeth "Betsy" Coates on 6 Jan 1811 in Wilkinson Co., Miss?? Was he the brother-in-law of Rebecca Coates Jackson??
