Yes, at first glance it does look expensive...but you don't always need that second test...and considering the costs for doing paper research - DNA testing is way, way, way less expensive...

In a matter of months we had related family groupings, which gave direction to our research, we found that there are at least 3 or 4 unrelated Coats families out of SC, when in the past it would have been easy to have connected them all since they were all in the same county at the same time...

The paper trail on this family out of and into SC is practically non existent...and vary little confidence in the early research...except for 1 or 2 familiy lines there is no documentation and most of the connections is mere speculation on the part of earlier researchers.

So with the DNA testing, now we know!!
