I am trying to trace the ancestors of Edward Coates (pottery worker / owner) of Stockton on Tees U.K. who was born in 1844 at Stockton. He married Margaret Haggerty who was born in Newcastle in 1841.
Their Children were Frank, Lillie, Mary, Alice, John E. and Robert and they lived at 6 Stewart Street Stockton on the 1881 census.
There may be a connection with Norton Pottery.
