Hi Brian
Your father is definately the brother of my grandfather, Patrick. My father is his second eldest son, Laurence. I currently live in Liverpool, having returned after numerous jaunts. I am 42, married with 4 children. Mark,14, Sarah,12, Rebecca,5 and Nina, nearly 3. Its really nice to hear from another of the family.
My uncle Eddie remembers you! I have met Frank, but thats about it I'm afraid. He used to live in Welwyn Garden City but that was some years ago.
When searching for the name Coan, it may be useful to know that there were a number of different spellings including Coyn,Cohan,Coyne,Coen and so on. This was because of low literacy levels.
Cheers
Neil
