My grandfather was Jess Coan, who had a brother named Will. Also a sister named
Hattie or Harriet. They all lived in the Spartanburg area of South Carolina. I grew up in my grandfathers home and he spoke of a
brother named Will, but I never knew where he lived. I feel that if he lived near us I would have seen him at some point in time.
My grandfather wqs born in 1870. He said that his father was a "full-blooded Irishman.
