James Coan b.Nov. 4, 1863 d.May 24, 1950 mar.Isabell(e) Harrison b.Feb. 8, 1868 d.Feb. 15, 1940. Children: James Norman Coan b.Oct. 4, 1898 d.Sept. 1980 mar. Aletha Beatrice Messenger b.Dec. 31, 1898 d.May 14, 1973 married Tilton, IL Dec. 24, 1917; Thomas Coan ???; Samuel Coan ???. Children of James Norman and Aletha Coan: James Edward Coan, Robert Norman Coan, William Coan, Thomas Coan, Samuel Coan d.age 21 in service or Coast Guard, Lenora/Lanora Coan d.age 12. Robert Norman is my grandfather. He and Helen Daniels had three sons; James Norman, John Warren, Paul Edward (my father). Any information regarding James or Isabell Coan would be greatly appreciated. I have also been told that they came over from England and that somewhere along the line we had the 'h' knocked out of us. Considering the Coan sense of humor, it's hard telling if they were serious or not. Thank You. Shicotta Coan
