Thanks Graham for your reply. You painted a graphic picture for me of the area, I was thinking more with 'rose tinted glasses'. It didn't do my poor emigrant much good, he died at 39 of a Brain Tumour leaving four small children. Sorry that we can't strike a match in families, I guess I will have to keep on looking.
