Hi Diane, my great grandfather was involved in gold mining in Cripple Creek in the late 1890s. Our family found some information about him in a 1900 issue of The Cripple Creek Evening Star and an 1899 issue of The Denver Sunday Times. There is also a 1900 Official Manual of the Cripple Creek District Colorado, U.S.A., and a 1900 town directory listing residents and their occupations. Also referenced is the Colorado Mining Directory published in 1902 and 1905. I hope this helps you out.
