I am seeking information on the family of Mrs. Lulu Griggs,Summers,Wilcox. Lulu was first married to Charles Iredell Summers in Putnam county, MO Jan.20, 1889. They moved to LaJunta, CO in August 2901 for his health, which evidently didn't help, as Charles died Feb.8, 1903. He is listed in a newspaper obit as being Charles "J" Summers. The article said he left two children (who I believe were Carl & June Summers). Some say he was buried in MountainView Cemetery, but I can find no such cemetery in LaJunta. His widow married L.A. Wilcox Dec. 22, 1903. (An article was in the LaJunta Tribune of Nov.25, 1903 announced the marriage...but it hadn't taken place yet, so dates are a little sketchy) Pastor A.A. Layton of Pilgrim Baptist church officiated at the ceremony at Lulu's home 1406 Carteret. The article aslo said both were formerly of LaJunta, so possibly they were married in Pueblo. I would like to find out if Charles is buried in Mountain View in Pueblo, and if Lulu's 2nd marriage took place in Pueblo, and what happened to the Summers children, Carl & June? Does anyone know of additional children of Lulu after her marriage to L.A. Wilcox? Any help with the people mentioned here would be appreciated.
