Mason & family moved to Phillips co. from Edgar Co, Illinois around 1879. Had several children including a set of twins, Samuel Ray & Jessie May bn 1882. They were in Colorado until 1900 when the family returned to Illinois. Mason was said to have died in Colorado. Mason was a preacher and farmer. Can find nothing other than the census which shows Annie and children, no Mason. Would love any clues on this family. Mason (bn Ky. 1850) was the son of Jesse B Smith & Camilla Augustus. Anna Maria Brewer Smith was the daughter of Eliza Jane Goodrum (bn Ky) & Samuel Washington Brewer (bn Ky).
I have a picture of a "soddy" house that was still being used in 1951. Please,does any one have any suggestions where to look for this family? I have searched all the sources I can find, but Colorado is tough.
