John T. Bermingham was born somewhere in Ireland abt 1850, came with parents to U.S. abt 1853. He arrived in the Denver area abt 1880 and before 1885 and was involved in mining in Gilpin and Clear Creek counties. He was married to Rose Ann Nichols about 1875 perhaps in Ohio or Iowa. I would like to know if he ever became a naturalized citizen and if so, where the records of that are. I am trying to determine WHERE in Ireland he was born and from where the family emigrated.
Also in Denver area at that time was his brother, William F. Bermingham who was born in New Jersey in 1857 after the family emigrated. I found one Wm. Bermingham who filed a Homestead in Gunnison county but I'm not sure it is the same one. I found a record of marriage for a Wm. B'ham and a Kate Smith in Clear Creek county in 1875, but again, not sure if this is the correct one as there were more than one Wm. B'ham. He died in Denver in 1909.
The mother of this family was Bridget Nolan Bermingham and the father was Thomas Bermingham. The mother is in the 1880 census as a widow and I have records of her life from then until her death in Denver in 1895. But the father dropped out of sight after 1862 and I've found no record--or hint--of his death date or place. Anyone have any ideas?
