Herman G. Ottens and Nettie Samantha (Ruddell) Ottens. Grandpa left Neb. and settled near Burlington in 1913 at the age of 23. Went to work foe Lou Bremier. Grandma Ruddell came to the area from Fountain Green Ill. by covered wagon in 1906 and homestead 15 miles south of Burlington. Grandpa and Grandma were married in May 1916 in Stratton Colo. After that they moved to Bethume Colo. and Grandpa farmed the McClure place. My family in Burlington had a store there I remember a large painting of a Cowboy on a Jack Rabbit herding Cattle.
