My Great-grandmother, Deluvina (Delouvina) Sandoval y Archuleta was born about 1843 in Mexico. At that time Huerfano County,Colorado was part of Mexico. At the end of the Mexican War it became part of the teritory of New Mexico and later became part of the territory and State of Colorado. The first documented evidence of her existence is the US Census of 1870. She is shown as living in the Huerfano Valley and married to my Great-grandfather, Nathaniel Roy with a one-year old son, Alexander. She appears again in the Huerfano Valley in the 1880 Census with six children. My Great-grandfather died of Smallpox in 1877. She remarried twice, first to Juan Isidro Tafoya and later to Benigno Velarde. She died in 1906 while married to Benigno Velarde. Both marriages took place at Los Chavas Plaza, Huerfano County, Colorado. She is buried at Los Chavas Plaza Cemetery, Gardner, Huerfano County, Colorado. Any information on Deluvina prior to 1870 would be appreciated. I would be happy to share my post-1870 information on Deluvina with any interested parties. Thanks, Art Cox
