David F. Hall Dies in PuebloTuesday Night

One of Fremont county's pioneer ranchmen, David F. Hall, of Eight Mile creek east of here, died at St. Mary's hospital in Pueblo at 10 o'clock Tuesday evening.

Mr. Hall had been in failing health for several months and Sunday underwent a major operation at the hospital. He failed to rally and passed peacefully away with members of his family at his bedside.

Mr. Hall, known to hundreds in southern Colorado as Dave, had lived in Fremont county more than 50 years. He was among the early cattlemen of the district and he has always been known as an authority on stock. He numbered his friends not only in Caņon City and other Fremont county communities, but in all of Colorado as well.

Friendly and hospitable, his home was always open to his friends. He was a host typical of the early days of the west. His death removes one of the few remaining old time cattlemen of the county and his loss will be felt by many.

Born in North Carolina on July 1, 1860, he was 74 years of age. He came west at an early age and settled on his present ranch about a half-century ago.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Minnie Hall; two children, Fred Hall, and Mrs. Clarence Chess, both of the Eight Mile district and a brother, M. E. Hall of North 19th Street, Caņon City.

Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist church, of which Mr. Hall was a member, Friday at 2 p.m. Rev Spargo officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery under the direction of the Wilson mortuary.
