TRUITT, Paul Andrew Paul Andrew Truitt, in his 92nd year, long-time Denver resident, passed away on February 12, 2004. He was born July 10, 1912 to Wilbert Vernum Truitt and Lillian Margeurite (Hale) Truitt in La Junta, Colorado. At a young age, he moved to Dodge City, Kansas to live with his grandparents. Later, he returned to Colorado to finish his education at North Denver High School and Denver University. He taught in the Englewood Public School System until his retirement. Paul married Ethel Irene Best on October 16, 1937. They had one son, Larry Vern Truitt. Ethel died on June 30, 1981. Paul married Dorothy Mae Dill on October 20, 1983. Paul developed a passion for travel that would take him down many of the backroads of Colorado, as well as through most of the United States, Canada and Mexico. His other interests included photography, fishing, reading and spending time at the family cabin in Harris Park. He was very involved with the Harris Park Association, serving on the Board of Directors and volunteering in many capacities over the years. He was well-known and loved by the many youngsters he taught to fish. Paul will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends, and always remembered for his generous heart, treasured stories of the past and a great sense of humor. Cremation has occurred. At Pauls request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Paul A.
