There is a W. W. Brewer (age 54, born: Ohio, father born Ohio, mother born Ohio) listed in the 1885 Custer County census, his wife: Mary I. (or J.) age 52, born: Ind., father born Ky., mother born: Ky., a son, Wm. A. Brewer, age 28, born Ills., father born: O., mother born: Ind.

The 1885 census information for W. W. Brewer and family appears in Enumeration District #2, page 54, lines 21-23. Let me know if you need a digital image of that page for your records.
