I'm researching Richard [1825-1895] & Nancy Melinda [1831-1911] ECHOLS RUMSEY & their 13 known children. Richard, Nancy & 8 of their children [John Camel, Clara Angeline, Fields, Mary "Ella" Ellender, Larkin Elias, Richard Monroe (my ggrandfather) Malissa Lucinda & Sarah Ann Maglitha] were born in GA; family story has it that their 9th child: Jason George Washington was born on a boat crossing the Ohio River into IN during the Civil War; the next 3 [Nancy "Nannie" Melinda, Samuel & Harriet Jane] were born in IN and the youngest son, Seth Harvey was born in Pope Co IL. Jason G.W. & Samuel died young while the family was in So IL. The parents and several of the children and their families continued west as far as southern Colorado during the early 1890s. Richard died in Manassa, Conejos Co CO in 1895, I know Nancy & her youngest son, Seth moved back to Pope Co IL and Larkin Elias and his family stayed in CO. Fields, Richard Monroe & several of the older girls already had families and stayed in southern IL. What happened to John Camel & Anna ROSE RUMSEY and their family, also Harriet Jane.
