Am just now getting back into the hobby after burning myself out a few years
ago. Have copies of some wonderful books of newspaper extracts that Mary McRoberts did in 1991. They cover the period 1859-1900 and one is :
"Boulder County, Colorado / Marriages, Anniversaries, Divorces, Births and
Birthdays / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co/
July 1991"
And the other is :
"Boulder County, Colorado / Deaths and the Insane / 1859-1900 / Newspaper Abstracts / Mary McRoberts / Boulder, Co / July 1991"
I trust her extracts but beware of my typing. Hope I'm accurate. Found the
following entry -
1. Obits - "Mann, Dr. William J. d 28 Apr 1883 Caribou of Bright's Disease aggravated by 'taking a cold.' Age 56. Resident of Caribou for 13 years. Leaves 3 children - 2 boys and a girl. They are in Middle Park and could not attend the funeral. Bur 29 Apr Boulder. (NAC 4 May 1883:3 ; HW 2 May 1883:8 ; see Estate Files) Dr Mann's son Emmit Mann is in Caribou and after settling his father's business affairs he will return home to Middle Park. (HW 23 May 1883:1) Administrator's Notice by adm. , son Emmett W. Mann. (NAC 15 June 1883:4)" [NAC=Boulder News and Courier ; HW=Boulder County Herald]
Note the two different spellings of the son.
I tried finding Middle Park on the Rootsweb Town locator but it had nothing - Colorado or anywhere. May be a "ghosttown" ; but it sounds far away. Sounds like this "Middle Park" is where all your births/marriages/deaths are.
You should send away for a copy of the estate files.
Good luck
