The father Knud (Knudt/Knut) Munson would have been born in Norway around 1828, while his wife Ingeborg was born in Norway about 1830. They traveled in October 1903 to Longmont, Colorado with their son John Munson, who was born in Iowa in 1876 and a daughter Ellen, born 1870-1871 Iowa. According to his obituary, John Munson died in Longmont February 24, 1904. There is later mention of a sister who had gone to Idaho in the obit of a brother who died in 1932 in Iowa, but no mnetion of the parents. Due to their age, I would imagine them probably being deceased by 1910, but I do not know where. They either died in the Longmont area as well or moved to Idaho with their daughter Ellen and died there. I am also looking for Knut and Ingeborg's niece who was Severine Margarete Knudsen (or Knudsdtr and possible change to Wilson upon arrival in America),who emigrated to the Munson home Iowa in 1902. I would think she found the family ailing from consumption or TB and shortly after this, a brother John and sister Maggie went to New Mexico to "seek a more congenial clime on account of the fear of consumption." Maggie died in Bernalillo County at age 41 in December 1902. John spent a little more time there, then returned to Iowa, to Thor in Humboldt County. In October of 1903, the parents, Knut and Ingeborg, children John and Ellen traveled to Longmont, CO. "But the change seemed to do no good and he gradually weakened till his death which occurred February 24, 1904." I have no idea where Severine went, whether she may also have contracted TB and followed the family looking to improve her health or if she tried to get away from them and ended up dying somewhere else. Norwegian farmbooks for the province she was from only state she married a Norwegian after visiting with her aunt Ingeborg in Thor, then was in CA in 1906, died young and without children.
