I have just discovered that my wife's great grandmother's maiden name was Nicks. We had previously thought it to be Wicks based on her marriage record that was listed on line. She was Katherine(Katie,Kate) Wicks born 1882, in Colorado, daughter of John Nicks and Louisa M. Twiss. According to the 1900 census this family was listed as living in Longmont. John had married, second, Elizabeth(?).
I would be most interested in exchanging information with you.
