Donald,

I'm no great expert on Boulder geography, so take this with a grain of salt. And I've never lived there. My interests are 1870-1940.

I've never heard of Rowena, and from what I've found I believe it is a more modern locale.

It is not listed in the 1895 Atlas ( http://www.livgenmi.com/1895.htm ).

It is listed in Town Locator ( http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/townco.cgi ).

On Yahoo maps ( http://maps.yahoo.com/ ) it is on Lefthand Canyon Drive near Glendale , never heard of that either. Zoom in on it and it appears to be a few houses near a jeep trail. It is between Jamestown, Gold Hill and Sunshine ; those I have heard of.

In the 1900 try District 158 (Precinct 10), Jamestown ; and District 164 (Precinct 14), Gold Hill and Sunshine.

Regards,
David
