Clutter Family Genealogy Forum

Hello Ivan,
My name is Debra Clutter Schierman, and Joseph P.Clutter was my GGG Grandfathers brother. So,I guess you can say I am related to Ann Linthicum and descendants.I find it rather distressing and dismaying, after 150 YEARS her grave is being uprooted for another highway."ETERNAL RESTING PLACE" means just THAT...not until 'someone UNKNOWN and UNRELATED' decides to go tear it up! That is just soo disrespectful, cold and callous. It was THERRRE her family decided to bury her...not somewhere else.It was THERRRE that her family stood grieving and mourning her loss...NOT somewhere else! People say it has "no historical value",but I beg to differ.Should we move Pearl Harbor and build beach front condos? How about the Alamo? It just seems to be in the way of developement also! Ann was only an Individual.. a living breathing Wife and Mother..so therefore she is just insignificant?? Not to me,she isn't. She is VERY SIGNIFICANT.I do not know..and cannot find out, where JOseph is buried! Their son Josephs'family just seem to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. No record on them after the census, and he was a very prominent man there.I cannot find ANY other records on what happened to the other family members.Ann is the only one I can find..and so therefore is the representative of that branch of Clutter family! That is NOT INSIGNIFICANT.Do you have ANY record of Josephs burial place or a picture of it? Do you have ANY record of his fathers,Jacob Clutter of Hampshire County, death/burial/PROBATE?? It would be really nice if you folks could post here ANY documents that you have found on the Clutter Family of Hampshire County West Vrginia from the courthouse there!! It would help all Clutter descendants now and in the future. This very website,Ivan, is PROOOF that Clutter descendants STILL CARE about their ancestors and their heritage.I have a suggestion also...How about naming "corridor H" .."the Ann Linthicum Clutter Highway"???? That sounds nice! and pays respect to those pioneers and settlers that tamed that area soo long ago.Looking forward to hearing from you. Deb Clutter Schierman
