William Clutter confusion???
I recently received an orphan court record dated May 1849, Washington County, PA page 499-500--The petition of Mathias Clutter, son and heir at law of William Clutter, late of the township of Morris, Washington County, PA. That the said interstate, Wm Clutter died about seven years since leaving a widow to wit. Christina, since intermarried with Amos Headley, and issue eleven children to wit. the petitioners Henry, Clutter, Mary Clutter wife of Harvey Saunders, Rhody Clutter wife of Wm. C. Wolfe, Lucinda Cluter wife of Thomas Williamson, Emma Clutter wife of Edward O. Towers, and Cephas, Samuel, Sarah Jane, Elizabeth, and John Clutter, minor children of said interstate, who have for the legally appointed guardian Sila Baldwin. etc.I believe there WERE two William Clutter's that died in Washington County, PA in 1843.MY William Clutter married to Christina Bane died April/May 1843 at the age of 40-50 probaly born in PA.The William Clutter married to Sarah and Elizabeth son of John died in July of 1843.Please contact me if you descend thru William and Christina Bane Clutter or if you know the parents of William Clutter that died April/May of [email protected]
