Hmm. I have a copy of Effies letter. Maybe she forgot brother Charles. Will add him in. But the Johnin Oneida.. I would love him to be the son of John B and Catalina, but... They had two Johns.. John bp. 1803,died as infant and John. Bp. 31 March 1808 at St. George Epis. This makes it impossible to be off almost 10 years. Giles and Betsy were having children later. Besides and this is a biggie. Because Abraham Clute, s/o JB and Catalina died intestate.. there is a lot of information on his family by brothers and sisters.. Abraham had no children, so when the dust settled from his brother Giles came.. Giles Clute, Elizabeth A. Clute and Mary Clute of North Carolina. Allof these lived in North Carolina abd werenieces and nephews. Grand nieces and Grand nephews wer: Ella Butler, Female Voss( first name unknown) and George Clute and Milton Clute.. So John simply does jot fit.. Or if he does, it is through Voss, Ella Butler or George and Milton..I got a lot of information on Giles family from two sources.. Letters written by a Rebecca Clute ( Giles sister) and R. Chase Raiford an attorney in North Carolina who descends through this line and even has a portrait of a Clute female ancestor.
