Hi,
My grandfather was Jerry Albert Cluney. http://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/my-dad.htmlhttp://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/my-dad.html
My father is Robert Wayne Cluney. http://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/rwc.htmlhttp://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/rwc.html
I am Jerry Wayne Cluney. http://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/cluney.htmlhttp://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/cluney.html
My great grandfather moved the family to Montana where they homesteaded. There was a small community called Cluney, Montana. I understand that it was destroyed in a flood. It is not on current maps. Jerry A. Cluney was a cowboy in Montana and Wyoming for a time then returned to Illinois to marry and raise a family. His sons are Robert, Harold and Albert. Harold is still in Illinois. Robert and Albert live in Santa Cruz, CA.
My parents had their 81st birthday party Saturday, August 28, 2000. My father said that the family was originally from Fulton County. The names Dixon and Fouch came up in the conversation. I am not sure of the spelling of Fouch. My father told me previously that his grandma Dixon said that the family had come down the Ohio River on barges. This is oral history with all of its pitfalls.
You might find it interesting to visit my webpage. I have a section called the Cluney Clan Reunion. http://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/cluney_clan.HTMLhttp://rainey.blueneptune.com/~jcluney/cluney_clan.HTML It was in 1948. I am trying to get my father to identify as many of the people in it as he can. It is quite a picture. I am in it. I was born in 1946. I will put the names on the page when I get them.
Jerry W. Cluney
