LINDA,
Hi from JOY, again! I feel strongly that John Cluck who marr. Julia 1859-1860 & is living next door to Thomas in 1860 is also a son of Adam & Mary & a brother to Thomas. Evidently, Adam also had a son named Adam James Cluck. John & Julia Cluck are in 1880 Saratoga, Douglas Co, NE census. The last record I have of Belle's Father Thomas Cluck is the St. Joe City Dir. (1867-1868). His marr. to Rachel Shepherd is a County record. I know nothing of Thomas or wife Rachel after 1867-1868.

On my Gr-Grandmother Mary Ann (Cluck) Delay's OK death certificate, it states Thomas Cluck & Rachel Shepherd were her parents. So that one is for sure. Belle must be her sister because she is listed as sister-in-law of John A. Delay in 1880 St. Joe census.

Thomas' son William is in the 1850 census but not the 1860. So, I figure he died 1850-1860.

Then, on the census is Lucinda L. Cluck. I guessed the same possibility that she could be Lilly??

Then, I thought Matilda J. could be Jenny?? OR something not clear to the census taker & she is Phoebe Jane (perfect age)??? These are pretty far streches BUT who knows???

The only reason I have Phoebe Jane Cluck as dtr. of Thomas Cluck & Rachel is somebody somewhere submitted to Ancestry.com a record that this was so & that her birthday was Apr. 29, 1853 & marr. Isaac George Wilson - more info there. I can no longer find that piece of info!!!! It also listed her Wilson children & one with the last name of Schuler.

Another thing I thought of was this dtr. named Virginia, age 1. Maybe age is way off(unreadable) & she is
Virginia (Ginny) (Jenny). So many endless possibilities!!

I have had NO luck finding John A. Delay or Thomas Cluck in 1870. Strangely enuf, my Grandfather Charles Joseph (son of John A. & Mary Delay) was born in Casey, Guthrie Co, IA in 1872. All the other kids were born in MO (prob St. Joe). Is it possible that Clucks & Delays had Guthrie Co, IA connections before John A. Delay marr. Mary Ann Cluck in St. Joe?? John A. Delay joined up for the Civil War from Danmutha, Guthrie Co, IA in 1865. All of his fam. had lived there for 10 yrs. His parents were in the Buchanan Co, MO census in 1870. Well, what's the LATEST?? JOY
