Deb,

Tonia Holliman of Van Buren, AR, told us several years ago that a John Cluck came into PA in Philadelphia on the ship "SNOW GOOD INTENT". He paid 50% more than single passengers. My guess is that he had a child with him. It is an open question as to whether or not our Henry deceased 1802-1803 is a son of that John. We do have our Henry 1803 with a marriage in Bototourt County, VA in 1792, the year his last son was born. I consider the 1792 date is as far back as I have been. I am beginning to collect the PA Cluck line as well as the TN. line. I have about 6,000 Clucks in my two books and updates.

I have limited my quest to checking out the Clucks in the U.S., but am curious as to what you can find. Tonia said the Clucks were the Von Gluck family with an umlat( a mark over the U) and that we came from the Palintine area. Have you heard that? I have also seen a Cluck listed from VA in some revolutionary war records.

We have a little evidence that our Henry was from either Germany or PA, looking at early census records. Both PA and Germany were listed. The Jacob Cluck line from Henry clearly has statements that Jacob was born in PA.

Feel free to contact me.

Merritt Graves
